Trader Joe’s among tenants at new development in Virginia

Charlottesville, Va. — Columbia, S.C.-based Edens said that Trader Joe’s is among the anchor tenants of its new Shops at Stonefield development, under construction in Charlottesville, Va.

The Shops at Stonefield will begin opening stores and restaurants in November 2012. Tenants include Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Langford Market and Trader Joe’s. Edens said it is also working with local retailer Blue Ridge Mountain Sports on a new flagship store.

Additionally, the pedestrian-friendly Shops at Stonefield will feature Travinia Italian Kitchen and Burtons Grill, along with a new Regal Cinema with IMAX.

Pantry’s profit falls in Q3

Cary, N.C. — The Pantry reported Tuesday that net income dipped to $14.8 million in the third quarter, compared with $19 million in the same quarter last year.

Total revenue fell to $2.14 billion from $2.26 billion. Wall Street expected revenue of $2.15 million.

TravelCenters of America Q2 profit jumps 37%

Westlake, Ohio — Truck-stop operator TravelCenters of America reported Tuesday that net income for the second quarter leaped 37% to $29.9 million, from $21.8 million in the year-ago period.

Revenue dipped nearly 3% to $2.04 billion from $2.09 billion.
