Trader Joe’s to open at Patriot Place
Foxborough, Mass. — Trader Joe’s announced plans to open a new grocery store at Patriot Place, located in Foxborough, Mass., in 2012.
The 16,000-sq.-ft. store will be Trader Joe’s 18th Massachusetts location, and the only within a 15-mile radius of Foxborough. Trader Joe’s has leased existing space in Patriot Place’s South Marketplace between Christmas Tree Shops and Staples.
Patriot Place is a shopping, dining and entertainment destination located adjacent to Gillette Stadium, and featuring large and boutique retailers, 17 restaurants and other nightlife venues. Among Patriot Place’s highlights are New England’s first Bass Pro Shops, a 14-screen Showcase Cinema De Lux, CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, the award-winning Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon, a Brigham & Women’s/Mass General Health Care Facility, and a four-star Renaissance Hotel & Spa.
Burger 21 to open at Lakeside Village
Lakeland, Fla. — Columbus, Ohio-based Casto announced that Burger 21, headquartered in Tampa, will open a fast-casual burger and shake restaurant at Casto’s Lakeside Village property, in Lakeland, Fla.
The 2,559-sq.-ft. restaurant, which is slated to open spring 2012, will feature outdoor patio seating plus interior space for 70-80 customers. It will be located across from GrillSmith Lakeland and next to Cobb Theatres – Lakeside Village 18.
DDR to facilitate opening of five new Five Below stores in Atlanta
Beachwood, Ohio — DDR Corp. announced Friday new Five Below stores in consolidated small shop and downsized junior anchor locations at five Atlanta-area shopping centers.
DDR said the new locations represent the continuation of efforts to strategically reduce small-shop space as well as rightsize junior anchors and re-lease the residual space at attractive market rents. At the locations where Five Below will be occupying downsized space, DDR will realize rental increases of nearly 50%.
The new Five Below stores, slated to open in 2012, will be located at the following shopping centers: Perimeter Pointe, a 353,000-sq.-ft. power center in Atlanta where Five Below will occupy all of the residual space of a downsized Office Depot; Town Center Commons, a 160,000-sq.-ft. community center in Kennesaw, where Five Below will occupy two combined historically vacant small shop units; Marketplace at Millcreek, a 403,000-sq.-ft. power center in Buford, where Five Below will occupy two combined previously vacant small shop units; Woodstock Square, a 393,000-sq.-ft. power center in Woodstock, where Five Below will occupy all of the residual space of a downsized Old Navy; and Presidential Commons, a 371,000-sq.-ft. power center in Snellville, where Five Below will occupy all of the residual space of a downsized Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts store.
