Uniqlo to enter Pennsylvania

New York — Uniqlo will open its first Pennsylvania store on May 16, at King of Prussia Mall, in King of Prussia. In the fall, the Japanese retailer will open a flagship in downtown Philadelphia. The openings are part of the brand’s 2014 U.S. expansion efforts, including openings in new cities and the surrounding regions of Philadelphia, Boston and Los Angeles, and more store openings in Northern California, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York.
Uniqlo has opened a pop-up store in King of Prussia Mall, which will remain open through April 27. The temporary store will feature a rotating selection of Uniqlo apparel.
“We are incredibly excited to continue our expansion into the Pennsylvania area,” said Larry Meyer, Uniqlo USA CEO and Fast Retailing group senior VP. “We are always looking to grow the Uniqlo brand and our customer base, and there is no better way to do that than to bring the Uniqlo experience to more and more people throughout the United States.”
Uniqlo has more than 1,200 stores around the globe, with17 stores in the United States.
DSW opens new store in Iowa March 20
Columbus, Ohio – DSW Inc. opens a new store in Davenport, Iowa on March 20. As of March 20, DSW will operate 398 stores in 42 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
DSW Rewards is a free loyalty program in which customers earn certificates toward future DSW purchases and receive special member-only offers. Customers can also participate in a Shoe Lover community on Facebook to receive exclusive offers and giveaways.
CBL to develop Parkway Plaza in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.
Chattanooga, Tenn. — CBL & Associates Properties has announced its newest community center development, Parkway Plaza, a 134,100-sq.-ft. project in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Construction will begin in June, with the grand opening scheduled for spring 2015. Once complete, the 16+-acre site will offer several national retailers new to the area including anchor stores Hobby Lobby, Marshalls and Petco.
Parkway Plaza is currently 90% leased with the three committed anchors plus Rack Room Shoes and Ross Dress for Less. A Wal-Mart shopping center will shadow anchor the new development.
