Victoria Secret President Joins Liz Claiborne
New York City, Liz Claiborne Inc. named Jill Granoff group president of its direct-to-consumer division. She will oversee specialty retail outlet and on-line stores in the United States, which accounted for 25% of its 2005 revenue. Most recently, Granoff served as president and COO of Victoria’s Secret Beauty, a division of Limited Brands.
Marketing Officer Stepping Down at Circuit City
Richmond, Va., Circuit City Stores announced on Monday that Fiona P. Dias has decided to stop down as executive VP, chief marketing officer for personal reasons, effective Aug. 27, 2006. From Aug. 28, 2006, through Dec. 31, 2006, she will assume a new role with the company as executive advisor of strategic branding initiatives.
As executive advisor, Dias will assist in the transition of the chief marketing officer role and assist with select projects, including the planned launch of a new services brand later this year.
Gap Inc. Named Most Fashionable Employer for New Graduates
San Francisco, Gap Inc. was named the most “Ideal Employer” by undergraduates across the country who are interested in pursing careers in retail, fashion and apparel, according to the 2006 Universum Undergraduate Survey. The Universum study, conducted annually since 1997, polled more than 37,000 students at more than 200 leading colleges and universities across the country. In the survey, participants describe their career expectations and list their most desirable employers. Ranked number 30 overall across all industries, Gap Inc. was at the top of this year’s survey as the primary choice for the next generation of fashion industry employees.
