Walgreens names Krafts Foods exec as CFO

Deerfield, Ill. — Walgreens on Monday named Timothy McLevish as Walgreens executive VP and CFO, effective immediately. He will lead all of Walgreens’ finance functions as the company prepares to move forward with the proposed second step of its strategic partnership with Alliance Boots.

McLevish comes to Walgreens from Kraft Foods Group, one of North America’s largest consumer packaged food and beverage companies, where he most recently served as executive VP and CFO. Prior to Kraft, he served in CFO roles for Ingersoll-Rand, the diversified industrial company, and Mead Corp., a forestry products company.

“We are pleased to welcome Tim to lead our financial operations into the next chapter of Walgreens ongoing transformation as we continue to accelerate our strategic growth drivers, expand globally with Alliance Boots and prepare to embark on our journey to create the first global pharmacy-led, health and wellbeing enterprise,” stated Greg Wasson, Walgreens president and CEO. “With Tim on our senior management team, Walgreens and Alliance Boots will benefit not only from his deep and rich experience in the consumer products market, but also from his experience in bringing together companies to ensure efficient, effective and profitable growth and value creation.”

P.S. From Aeropostale launches brand in Mexico, 100 stores on tap

New York — Aeropostale, Inc. will roll out its P.S. from Aeropostale brand in Mexico through a licensing partnership with Distribuidora Liverpool, S.A. de C.V.

P.S. from Aeropostale’s expansion plans in Mexico include the opening of branded in-store shops in Liverpool department stores, as well as standalone stores, across Mexico beginning in summer 2014. The first store opened in July at Sante Fe Mall in Mexico City.

“In just one year, the Aeropostale brand has seen rapid growth and great strength in Mexico,” said Thomas P. Johnson, CEO, Aeropostale, Inc.

Johnson said the company plans to open more than 100 P.S. locations in the country over the next several years.

Christopher & Banks Corporation names COO/CFO

Minneapolis — Christopher & Banks Corporation announced that Peter G. Michielutti has been promoted to executive VP, COO and CFO, effective immediately.

Michielutti was previously senior VP and CFO, having joined the company in April 2012.
