Walgreens opens health center at BMW Manufacturing’s U.S. site

Deerfield, Ill. — Walgreens and BMW Manufacturing on Tuesday celebrated the grand opening of a comprehensive worksite health center on the BMW campus in Spartanburg, S.C.

The 25,000-sq. ft. facility, managed by Walgreens Employer Solutions Group, will provide BMW associates, dependents and eligible retirees a wide range of health services, including primary and occupational care.

“Walgreens has increasingly shown how investing in worksite health programs can be instrumental in helping to reduce costs for employers, while improving the overall health and productivity of their workforce,” stated Peter Hotz, Walgreens group VP.

It is great to see that employers are taking more and more care of their employees through better healthcare administration measures. Indeed, this is the best way to increase productivity, thus the company being the one who gains in the end. I've always admired German people's style of dealing with employees.

Famous Footwear selects Empower MediaMarketing as agency

St. Louis — Famous Footwear, a division of Brown Shoe Co., said Tuesday it has selected Cincinnati-based Empower MediaMarketing as its media agency of record.

Empower will work with Famous Footwear to reach its target customer, as well as to help drive sales online and in-store.

“The landscape of paid, owned and earned media continues to change, and Famous Footwear needs to make sure its marketing efforts are effective and efficient,” said Amy Rose, media manager, Famous Footwear.

Glimcher acquires University Park Village for $105 million

Fort Worth, Texas — Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust announced Monday the acquisition of University Park Village, an open-air center located in Fort Worth, Texas.

The 173,220-sq.-ft. center is 97% occupied, generates sales of more than $800/sq. ft., and is tenanted by Apple, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Lululemon Athletica and Madewell, among others.

Glimcher purchased University Park Village for $105 million.

“This quality property offers tremendous growth potential and aligns perfectly with our acquisition strategy,” said Michael P. Glimcher, CEO.
