Walmart to offer cardholders gasoline discount through Dec. 24
Bentonville, Ark. — Walmart will offer holders of its gift cards, credit cards and prepaid debit cards a discount on gasoline of up to 15 cents a gallon until Dec. 24, 2012.
The program will offer shoppers using a Walmart gift card a 10-cents-per-gallon discount. Those who use a Walmart MoneyCard or Walmart credit card will save 15 cents per gallon. The discounts will be available at more than 1,000 Murphy USA and Wal-Mart gas stations in 20 states.
Last year, Walmart offered customers including those who paid with its branded credit or money cards a 10-cents-per-gallon discount. Last year’s promotion ran from June 29 through Christmas Eve.

Supervalu realigning management
Minneapolis — Supervalu announced that it is restructuring its executive leadership team to ensure alignment around the company’s goals and to better drive and execute the company’s business turnaround.
Kevin Holt has taken on an expanded role as president of Supervalu Retail. In this position, Holt will drive the overall strategy for the company’s traditional retail and pharmacy divisions, including overseeing the marketing and merchandising functions. Holt came to Supervalu in May from Hudsonville Ice Cream and Kilwin’s Quality Confections in Michigan, where he was the president.
As part of this change, executive VP and chief marketing officer Michael Moore will now report to Holt, as will Tim Lowe, who has been promoted to executive VP of merchandising.
In addition, company-veteran Janel Haugarth has accepted the newly created position of executive VP, business optimization and process improvement. She will oversee efficiency and cost-cutting efforts.

Barneys New York and Disney teaming up for Barneys’ holiday campaign
New York — Barneys New York and The Walt Disney Company are teaming up on Barneys’ 2012 holiday campaign at Barneys stores in a campaign called Electric Holiday.
The multi-platform initiative will combine fashion and fantasy, merging the creativity and magic of Disney with the wit and surprise of the legendary Barneys New York annual holiday campaign.
“The legendary characters and world created by Disney live in the active mind and memory of virtually every citizen of the world," said Mark Lee, Barneys New York CEO. "Barneys New York has been privileged to collaborate with Disney and its remarkable talents this holiday season on the Electric Holiday campaign, which places these iconic characters into the center of our fashion world."
Beginning in mid-November, the the store windows at Barneys flagship on Manhattan’s Madison Avenue will serve as the centerpiece of the Electric Holiday campaign in which an exclusive moving art short created by Disney artists, will be showcased amid a celebration of lights. The moving art will feature models inspired by Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, as well as other iconic Disney characters as they star in a fantasy Paris runway show.
Disney also has created a modern, three-dimensional electric light show that will encompass the Madison Avenue store entrance and showcase the moving art housed within the windows. Original music will bring the show to life.
The Electric Holiday program and the Madison Avenue flagship’s windows will be unveiled on Nov. 14.
