Whole Foods Market to make Irvine, California, debut

Irvine, Calif. — Whole Foods Market and the Irvine Company announced that the companies have signed a lease to bring the first Whole Foods Market to Irvine, California.

The organic and natural grocer will occupy approximately 40,000 sq. ft. at Los Olivos Marketplace, a specialty shopping center just off the 405 freeway at Irvine Center Drive in Irvine Spectrum.

The store, set to open in spring 2016, will be Whole Foods Market’s second location on The Irvine Ranch, joining Whole Foods Market’s Fashion Island store, which opened in 2012. The new location will be Whole Foods Market’s sixth store in Orange County.

“The Irvine Spectrum is evolving into one of Southern California’s most dynamic downtowns, and we are excited to bring Whole Foods Market’s unique organic and natural offerings to those who live and work there,” said Patrick Bradley, president, Whole Foods Market Southern Pacific Region.

Los Olivos Marketplace is a 120,000-sq.-ft. specialty shopping center. Construction is set to begin this summer and finish in late 2015. Along with Whole Foods Market, the center will include casual dining, shops and services. The new center is part of Irvine Spectrum, a 5,000-acre business, residential and shopping village master planned by the Irvine Company.

Hilldale to launch redevelopment

Madison, Wisconsin — Hilldale, a 675,000-sq.-ft. center in Madison, Wisconsin, is preparing to launch a major redevelopment that will add 53,000 sq. ft. of new retail and restaurant space built in an outdoor streetscape. As part of the redevelopment, Kate Spade New York, Lucky Brand, Michael Kors and Sperry Top-Sider will join the existing roster of national and local retailers, restaurants and specialty boutiques. The center is owned and operated by WS Development, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

Anchored by Macy’s, Target, Metcalfe’s Market, and Sundance Cinemas, the center also features Anthropologie, Lululemon Athletica, The North Face, and Title Nine, along with local boutiques such as Morgan’s Shoes, Twigs and Sushi Muramoto.

Hilldale has begun interior preparations for the redevelopment of the north side of the center, between Macy’s & Metcalfe’s Market. Later this summer, exterior demolition will begin to make room for the redevelopment and remerchandising. Other new tenants will include Café Hollander and Sur la table.

Bath & Body Works to join Legends Outlets Kansas City

Kansas City, Kansas — Bath & Body Works will open a 3,010-sq.-ft. store at designer outlet Legends Outlets Kansas City on Aug. 4.

Bath & Body Works will occupy the space next to Ann Taylor Factory Store by the Civic Courtyard Fountain.

Other recent additions at Legends Outlets Kansas City include the only area Pizza Studio, Woody’s Automotive concept, Nail Envy spa and the Coach Factory pop-up location.
