Winmark launches Style Encore resale brand

Minneapolis — Winmark Corp. announced today that the name of its recently launched women’s resale brand will be Style Encore. The company also announced that Susan Baustian, formerly the company’s brand director for its children’s resale franchise Once Upon A Child has been named as the brand director for Style Encore.

"We wanted a name that not only reflected the changing styles of our customer base, but also something that captured the concept of recycling that has been so widely received by the customers of our other brands,” said John Morgan, chairman and CEO, Winmark.

Kroger names president of its Central Division

Cincinnati — The Kroger Co. announced the promotion of Jeff Burt as president of the company’s Central division. Kroger’s Central Division operates 136 food stores primarily in Indiana and Illinois.

Burt, 50, has been group VP of perishables merchandising and procurement since 2010. He succeeds Bob Moeder, who recently announced his plans to retire this spring.

“In his 27-year career with Kroger, Jeff has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of our business,” said Rodney McMullen, president and chief operating officer of Kroger. “His enthusiasm, keen sense of the customer, and experience in merchandising and operations will be tremendous assets to the Central Division team.”

Panera Bread names CFO

St. Louis — Panera Bread Company announced that Roger C. Matthews, Jr., has been appointed Panera’s EVP and CFO, effective March 18.

Matthews most recently served as managing director and sector head of the U.S. Restaurant Industry in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division.

Pat Kelly, who has served as Panera’s Interim CFO since April 2012, will remain in place until the end of March to ensure a smooth transition.
