Wolverine opens first retail store
New York — Wolverine has opened its first permanent store, in New York City’s Nolita neighborhood.
The store follows a successful pop-up the brand launched last fall. The brand; new location follows the successful New York pop-up venture in fall 2012, and will again offer a curated selection of goods that share Wolverine’s commitment to quality, heritage and craftsmanship.
"The success of the Wolverine Company Store pop-up shop exceeded our expectations and made it an easy decision to open a permanent location," said Todd Yates, president, Wolverine Brand. "The store showcases our heritage, and through that story we’ve been able to make strong brand connections with so many people."
Designed by Bklyn Dry Goods, which also designed the pop-up, the new space brings Wolverine’s long history to life, with wooden beams that were part of Wolverine’s original tannery dating back to the late 1800s and a wall of vintage shoe lasts. Other design elements include a more than 1,000-pound concrete sign from one of the company’s original factory buildings.
"Taking inspiration from many of the elements that made the pop-up project a success, we’re hoping to continue to inspire the look and feel of Wolverine retail and are excited to welcome Wolverine to New York City with a new, permanent home," said Jahn Hall of Bklyn Dry Goods.
In addition to the full men’s and women’s collections of Wolverine 1000 Mile and Wolverine No. 1883, the store will showcase items from other like-minded heritage brands including Filson, Tellason denim, Samantha Pleet, Left Field NYC, Imogene + Willie and Tanner Goods, alongside an unique selection of vintage items from Bklyn Dry Goods.
DSW announces four new locations
Columbus, Ohio – DSW, Inc. is opening four new stores on Oct. 10. The stores will be located in Muskegon, Mich., Rochester, Minn., Boardman, Ohio, and Knoxville, Tenn.
Customers will be eligible to participate in DSW Rewards, a free loyalty program in which customers earn certificates toward future DSW purchases and receive special member-only offers. Customers can also participate in the Shoe Lover community on Facebook to receive exclusive offers and giveaways.
Dunkin’ Donuts plans three stores in northern Colorado
Canton, Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts plans to develop three new restaurants throughout northern Colorado, in the surrounding areas of Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Windsor, and Estes Park. The first restaurant is expected to open in 2015 and the remainder by 2017.
New franchisees Doug Patterson and Cameron Stapleton signed a multi-unit development agreement. Stapleton will manage and oversee the company’s daily operations for each restaurant. Franchise opportunities in the state are still available in Colorado Springs.
