Xanadu Pours It On With Pepsi Globe
The 2.3 million-sq.-ft. retail entertainment extravaganza in East Rutherford, N.J.—Meadowlands Xanadu—has partnered with Pepsi to add yet another entertainment element to the complex. A 287-ft.-tall “Pepsi Globe” is being billed as America’s largest Ferris, or observation wheel, and will feature interactive experiences during the 25-minute ride in glass-enclosed, climate-controlled capsules.
The Pepsi Globe will be green-powered year-round, with energy obtained through the purchase of wind-power credits from a Texas generating plant, and it will be at least partially made from recycled materials.
A 10-year tenant/naming rights agreement has been executed between Xanadu and Pepsi-Cola North America, Purchase, N.Y. Meadowlands Xanadu is being developed by Meadowlands Development, whose partners include Colony Capital, The Dune Real Estate Funds and KanAm.
