Yogurtland expands in Dallas
Dallas SRS Real Estate Partners announced the expansion of Yogurtland, a self-serve frozen yogurt concept with 65 stores currently open in California; Arizona; Nevada; and Hawaii.
Yogurtland opened in the Shops of Southlake and in Lincoln Park, in Dallas. Another lease was recently signed for a store in Frankford Pavilion, at the Dallas North Tollway in Dallas. A store is also open in Carrolton, Texas.
Yogurtland is expanding rapidly with plans to add up to 10 more stores each in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and Austin/San Antonio. Florida, Utah and Colorado openings are planned for 2010.
Dollar General looks for new face for Bobbie Brooks brand
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. Dollar General announced that it will select 10 employees to represent Bobbie Brooks, its exclusive women’s fashion brand.
The 10 employeess will be featured in brand advertising and other promotions.
“Getting our employees involved and energized about our brands is important to Dollar General. Employees are not only ambassadors, but they are also our customers,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General division president and chief merchandising officer. “This is an exciting opportunity for employees to get some hands-on experience wearing the new line of clothes, while having some fun.”
Dollar General will reveal winners of its Bobbie Brooks model search in late spring.
Kmart to honor African-American women in Feb.
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. Kmart is paying tribute to African-American women throughout the month of February through its “Share the Word” campaign.
According to Kmart, the campaign will feature promotions on various beauty and wellnes products, a dedicated Web page at www.kmart.com/sharetheword) and updates on the retailer’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
On Feb. 8, comedian Steve Harvey helped kick off the campaign with a visit to the Kmart store in Atlanta, Ga.
