Report: McDonald’s to replace departing global marketing head with two execs

McDonald’s is reportedly shaking up its global marketing management structure.

According to AdAge, Silvia Lagnado, current global chief marketing officer of McDonald’s, is leaving the company in October. An internal memo sent by McDonald’s CEO Steve Eastbrook on Monday, July 22 informed employees of Lagnbado’s impending departure. The memo did not specify where Lagnado is headed following her resignation from the company.

Instead of naming a new global CMO to take Lagnado’s place, AdAge reports McDonald’s is instead promoting two global marketing executives who have reporting to Lagnado to newly-created senior VP positions. Colin Mitchell, VP of global brand, has been promoted to senior VP, global marketing, reporting to Easterbrook. Bob Rupczynski, VP of global digital engagement, has been named senior VP, marketing technology, and will report to Daniel Henry, executive VP and CIO.
