Charming Charlie continues brick-and-mortar comeback

Charming Charlie is back in business.

The women's clothing and accessories retailer is opening stores months after closing its 261 locations nationwide and selling its intellectual property to CJS Group LP, which is owned by Charming Charlie founder Charlie Chanaratsopon. The first Charming Charlie store under CJS ownership opened in September, at Cumberland Mall in Atlanta. Since then, it has opened five additional locations: The Mall in Columbia, Columbia, Md.; Towson Town Center, Towson, Md.; Providence Place, Providence, R.I.; SanTan Village, Gilbert., Ariz.; and Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica, Calif.

Charming Charlie is set to open on the East Coast in April, with a 6,416-sq.-ft. store at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, N.Y. The company, which delayed some openings due to COVID-19, plans to roll out additional retail locations, opening as many as 25 stores annually, according to its website.
