Dollar General promotes four execs

Dollar General is starting the new year with newly promoted executives in store operations, legal and finance departments.

The discount retailer recently announced four promotions across different business functions.  

• Dave Fentress has been named VP of finance. In nearly 20 years with Dollar General, he has worked several roles across the organization, most recently as VP of internal audit. 

• Adam Zager has been promoted to VP, risk management. He joined DG in 2010, and has held roles of increasing responsibility within risk management, most recently serving as senior director.

• Donna Hernandez is moving up to divisional VP of store operations. She joined Dollar General in 1998 as a sales associate and has steadily been promoted from within the company. Most recently, she was regional director of store operations in the New Orleans market.

• Jennifer Fletcher is now VP, internal audit. She joined the company in 2019 as senior director, internal audit.

The promotions come as Dollar General continues to expand. The company plans to open 1,110 stores this year and extend its business outside of the United States, with plans to open up to stores in Mexico.
