Rooms To Go moves outdoors with acquisition

One of the nation’s largest furniture retailers has entered the outdoor category.

Rooms To Go has acquired Carls Patio from Weinberg Capital Group of Cleveland. The Sefner, Florida-based RTG operates 135 stores throughout the South and Southeast. Carls Patio has 12 stores located throughout Florida.

According to a report by Home Textiles Today, Carl’s management will remain in place and there are no immediate plans to change the name of its stores. The report also said the acquisition is just the beginning of RTG’s plans to expand into the outdoor furniture category in all of its markets.

The purchase price was not disclosed.
