Kohl’s adds more fire power to its offerings
On the heels of a strong second quarter performance, Kohl’s Corp. is bringing another familiar name into its brand portfolio.
Starting in July 2019, the retailer will offer Nine West footwear, handbags and outerwear in all its stores, along with an expanded assortment online. In addition, Kohl’s will debut a new Nine West women’s apparel collection.
Nine West Holdings Inc. filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April and sold its namesake and Bandolino businesses to Authentic Brands Group as part of the reorganization. The deal with Kohl’s is Nine West’s first initiative since being acquired.
“We admire the role Nine West has played in shaping the footwear industry and its success in becoming one of the most recognized and desired brands among female consumers, particularly Millennial customers,” said Doug Howe, Kohl’s chief merchandising officer. “The addition of the Nine West brand to our women’s portfolio further illustrates our commitment to delivering relevant, sought-after brands that will continue to drive new customers to Kohl’s.”
Kohl’s second-quarter profit surged 40% to $292 million its second quarter. Men’s and women’s apparel were its top-performing divisions.
At Kohl’s, Nine West joins a brand line-up that includes LC Lauren Conrad, Simply Vera Vera Wang, Apt. 9, PopSugar at Kohl’s, Circus by Sam Edelman, a:Glow maternity, Nike, Under Armour, adidas, Levis, New Balance, and more.
