Stein Mart details store expansion plans

2/23/2016

Just a few weeks after reporting sales growth of 3.2% for 2015, Stein Mart is embarking on the first phase of its 2016 store expansion plan.

The Florida-based retailer plans to open 12 new stores this year, with five of those stores scheduled to open this spring.

“We are very pleased with the progress we are making with our store growth. This year’s anticipated store openings will surpass the ten stores we opened last year and nine stores in 2014,” said Jay Stein, CEO of Stein Mart. “We look forward to introducing our current and new customers to these wonderful new locations where they will always find great values on the best designer and name brand merchandise, in an attractive, easy-to-shop setting.”

The spring store group includes the company’s first ever store in Delaware and a second, sister-store to its very successful Naples, Fl, location. The five new stores, which are scheduled to open on March 10, are:

• Aurora, Denver: Arapahoe Crossing shopping center

• King of Prussia Philadelphia: West Dekalb Pike and Henderson Road

• Madison, Wisconsin: next to West Towne Mall

• Naples, Florida: Tamiami Crossing shopping center

• Wilmington, Delaware: Concord Square

The locations of the seven or more new fall stores, which are scheduled to open in October and November, will be announced this summer.

Stein Mart has 278 locations from California to Massachusetts, as well as Steinmart.com.
