Nordstrom opens omnichannel options for last-minute holiday shoppers

An upscale department store retailer is offering a number of services to get online orders in the hands of customers before Dec. 25.

Nordstrom, which has been ranked as the best retailer for contactless curbside pickup in a new Ipsos survey, will gift wrap curbside items for free. All stores will be open Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) for online order pickup, and Nordstrom also launched curbside returns the week of Dec. 14.

When searching on Nordstrom.com or in the Nordstrom app, customers can filter to see what's available in their local store. Customers in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., can obtain up to 7x more product selection for same-day and next-day pickup this holiday season. In New York City, customers can have in-stock items delivered the same day for $20. New York City customers can select same-day shipping when checking out. Orders placed by 4 p.m. will be delivered by 8 p.m.

In addition, customers can connect with a free Nordstrom gifting expert through online chat, virtual appointment (video call) or in store. Experts can take care of an entire shopping list for free. Other omnichannel services include e-gift cards which can arrive in seconds and $7 expedited shipping available for online orders placed before noon ET on Sunday, Dec. 20.

Nordstrom operates 357 stores in 40 states, including 100 full-line stores in the United States and Canada 249 Nordstrom Rack stores, two clearance stores, and six Nordstrom Local service hubs.
