Report: J.C. Penney to embark on hiring spree

3/16/2018
J.C. Penney is looking for a few good people to man one of its call centers.

The department store retailer is hiring 400 employees at its Lenexa, Kansas-based call center. The new associates will take on a variety of customer service roles, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

The positions will be a mix of full-time and part-time roles, and all will be focused on furniture and major appliances customer care, the report said.

The new hires come on the heels of the closure of the retailer’s distribution and customer call center in Milwaukee. The shutdown displaced approximately 670 employees. Those operations were expected to be transferred to facilities in Lenexa and Columbus, Ohio.
