Burrito Social: Puerto Rican style Tex-Mex moves into Florida.

What was once Puerto Rico’s most popular food truck that evolved into a restaurant concept in Guaynabo is now expanding in the United States.

Having opened its first U.S. location in Florida’s Clearwater Beach, Burrito Social will open a second restaurant in Deerfield Beach. The placement was made by restaurant broker Prakas & Co., which is also bringing another new Mexican eatery called Las Catrinas to Delray Beach.

"I'm honored to have played a role in introducing these two restaurants to the South Florida scene, and I encourage everyone to stop by and taste what the hype is all about," said broker Charles Prakas.

Behind the cuisine at Las Catrinas is J.D. Eubanks, a former U.S. Navy cook aboard the USS Mobile Bay who went on to be named Louisiana’s Top Chef by the American Culinary Federation in 2019. The concept, which will fill a 4,500-sq.-ft. space in Delray Beach focuses on using the freshest ingredients in its tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas.

Burrito Social, which succeeded in popularizing Tex-Mex specialties in the land of Tripleta and Mofongo will move into a 1,500-sq.-ft. space in Deerfield Beach.
