  • Cushman & Wakefield awarded major Bloor Street leasing assignment

    Toronto -- Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed retail leasing agent for 100 Bloor Street West, a major shopping mecca in Toronto. Currently occupied by Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma, the flagship retail space represents the largest block of available space on Bloor Street in the past 20 years.

  • Kroger-anchored Lynnwood Place changes hands

    Jackson, Tenn. -- Transwestern announced that it brokered the disposition of Lynnwood Place, a 96,666-sq.-ft. shopping center in Jackson, Tennessee. The seller was Columbia, South Carolina-based Edens, and the buyer of the Kroger-anchored retail center was Phillips Edison & Company.

    Completed in 1986, Lynnwood Place encompasses 11.73 acres and is 89% eased to retailers including Kroger, Charter Communications Inc., Cato Fashions and Youfit Health Clubs.

     

  • RMC Property Group names VP leasing

    Tampa, Fla. -- RMC Property Group announced that Nicholas Roth has joined the company as VP leasing.  

    Roth joins RMC from Sandor in Indianapolis, where he was its U.S director of leasing. Roth also worked previously in landlord representation as director of leasing/Florida with Edens & Avant and as senior VP leasing/Florida with Equity One.

  • Philips Edison/ARC acquires two centers in Florida

    Cincinnati -- Phillips Edison/ARC Grovery Center REIT II, announced the acquisition of two grocery-anchored shopping centers, Lake Washington Crossing and MetroWest Village. These acquisitions expand the company's portfolio to include the state of Florida.

    Lake Washington Crossing is a Publix grocery store-anchored shopping center located in Melbourne, Florida, approximately 35 miles east of Orlando. Other national and regional tenants featured at the 118,698 sq.-ft. shopping center include Sally Beauty, Pizza Hut, KFC and H&R Block.

  • Baker Katz completes Dave & Buster’s lease in Houston

    Houston -- Baker Katz, an X Team International partner, announced that it has completed the lease of a 40,000-sq.-ft. Dave & Buster's in Houston.     

    Located in the Baybrook Mall expansion project, this will be the third Dave & Buster's location to open in the Houston area.

     

  • Juanita Tate Marketplace brings diverse food options to South L.A.

    Los Angeles — Juanita Tate Marketplace is now open, bringing 77,096 sq. ft. of outdoor retail space with a full-service grocery to the highly underserved surrounding community. Located at 944 East Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles, the $21-million development is situated on a 6.5-acre site, which was formerly used as a scrap-metal plant.

    Construction began in May 2013 and completed in April 2014. The center is owned by Regency Centers and was designed by Nadel.

  • PREIT Enters into Agreement to Sell Non-Core Anchor Pad

    Philadelphia — Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust has entered into an agreement to sell an anchor pad underlying a Bon-Ton store in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, contiguous to Westgate Mall.

    The transaction is expected to close prior to the end of 2014.

  • CSA to name ‘Top Redevelopers’ for 10th straight year

    New York -- Chain Store Age is conducting its 10th annual survey of the Top Redevelopers in the United States. Survey results, which measure renovated and redeveloped projects completed within the last 12 months (June 30, 2013 to June 30, 2014), will appear in the November 2014 issue of Chain Store Age.

  • T.J.Maxx to open five stores in Chicago area

    Framingham, Mass. -- T.J.Maxx will be opening five stores in the Chicagoland area starting this week and through October.

    "The opening of these five stores in the Chicagoland area marks a momentous occasion for our brand," Richard Sherr, president of T.J.Maxx, stated.

    All five T.J.Maxx stores will occupy over 122,000 sq. ft. of retail space.

     

  • Bayer Properties names senior VP development and construction

    Birmingham, Alabama — Charles McNamee has joined Bayer Properties as senior VP of development and construction. McNamee most recently served as senior VP of commercial development and construction with Colonial Properties Trust.

    In his position with Bayer, McNamee will be responsible for all aspects of development and construction, including oversight of both the Development and Tenant Coordination and Construction Departments.
