  • WinCo enters Dallas-Fort Worth market

    Boise, Idaho - WinCo Foods, LLC will open its first discount supermarkets in the state of Texas on Feb. 6, in the cities of Fort Worth and McKinney. The stores are each approximately 95,000 sq. ft. in size and include WinCo's newest decor package creating an efficient, clean feel that highlights product and coordinates with the hundreds of WinCo Foods private label products the company has recently introduced.

  • DSW takes Waugh Chapel Towne Centre to 100%

    Owings Mills, Md. — Designer Shoe Warehouse has inked a deal to open a new store at Waugh Chapel Towne Centre in Gambrills, Md., between Annapolis and Baltimore, this summer. DSW has leased a 10,010-sq.-ft. space that the property’s owner Greenberg Gibbons will expand to 16,680 sq. ft. The deal leases the project up to 100%.

  • PriceSmart to open two stores in Colombia

    San Diego – On Jan. 30, 2014, PriceSmart, Inc. acquired approximately 147,000 usable sq. ft. of land in the city of Medellin, Colombia, and leased approximately 126,000 usable sq. ft. of land in the city of Bogota, Colombia, upon which the company plans to construct two new warehouse club stores. These two warehouse clubs are currently planned to open before the end of calendar year 2014.

  • Mid-America names assistant asset manager

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. — Mid-America Asset Management recently appointed Teddy Adamczyk as assistant asset manager.

    His new responsibilities include acting as a liaison with clients, tenants, local governments and corporate offices on all property related matters and day-to-day retail center management. Prior to joining Mid-America, Adamczyk worked in the insurance industry.

  • Rent-A-Center opens store in Bartlett, Tenn.

    Plano, Texas -- Rent-A-Center has opened its newest location in Bartlett, Tenn. Rent-A-Center operates 82 locations in the state of Tennessee.

    The retailer also operates more than 3,000 stores in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico. It employs more than 21,000 workers.

  • Nordstrom to relocate Hawaii store

    Seattle - Nordstrom, Inc. plans to relocate its full-line store to a new space within Ala Moana Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. The new three-level, approximately 186,000-sq.-ft. store is expected to open spring 2016.

  • Pine Tree buys two centers, breaks ground on four

    Northbrook, Ill. Pine Tree Commercial Realty has acquired two shopping centers, one in Nevada and the other in Missouri. The developer has also broken ground on four properties, two in Illinois, one in Idaho, and one in California.

    The activity brings Pine Tree’s current portfolio to 3.2 million sq. ft. in 24 properties.

  • Report: Saks to add luxury items, outlet stores

    New York – Saks Fifth Avenue is reportedly planning to both increase the amount of high-end luxury goods it sells and also increase the number of Saks Off 5th outlet stores it operates. According to the Wall Street Journal, Richard Baker, CEO of Canadian department store chain (and new Saks owner) Hudson’s Bay Company wants to overhaul Saks stores by selling more items such as $48,000 Louis Vuitton crocodile handbags.

  • RadioShack opens first custom New York concept store Feb. 1

  • CIG acquires Garden Park in Lewisville, Texas

    Los Angeles — CIG Retail Properties has acquired the 170,739-sq.-ft. Garden Park Shopping Center in the Dallas, Texas, suburb of Lewisville, for an undisclosed amount. CBRE’s private capital group in Dallas negotiated the sale on behalf of the seller, a special servicer.

    World Gym and Thrift City anchor the center. The tenant line-up includes Precision Sports Nutrition, Edward Jones, The UPS Store and Lewisville Soccer.
