  • Dunkin’ Donuts plans 12 new Detroit-area stores

    Canton, Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts has signed a multi-unit store development agreement with three existing franchise groups to develop 12 new restaurants in Detroit during the next several years. Existing franchise group Coffee Ventures, LLC plans to develop seven restaurants in suburban Detroit between 2014 and 2017, while existing Detroit franchisees Tarun and Falguni Raval plan to develop one restaurant in Detroit in 2014 and existing Detroit franchisees Nick and Masoud Shango plan to develop four restaurants in Detroit between 2014 and 2016.

  • Nespresso opens in-store shop at Macy’s Herald Square

    New York – Nespresso is opening an in-store “Boutique-in-Shop” at the Macy's Herald Square on 34th Street in New York City. Nespresso coffee specialists will be present to offer demonstrations of Nespresso machines and guide customers through the profiles of the 21 Grand Cru coffees.

    This is the second Nespresso Boutique-in-Shop within a Macy's store.

  • Loft to open in Vancouver

    Vancouver -- Loft, a division of Ann Inc., will open its first Canadian West Coast location, at The Village at Park Royal, in Vancouver, on Nov. 15.

    Since its arrival in Canada last year, Loft has opened five locations across Ontario and introduced international shipping.    

  • Target makes a splash with pop-up in Grand Central Station

    New York -- Target is celebrating the launch of Sonia Kashuk's new line bath and body products collection with a larger-than-life art installation and pop-up store in New York City's Grand Central Station. The centerpiece of the space is a gleaming white bathtub on a platform that is raised some eight feet off the floor. A live model sits in the tub, which is surrounded by bubble-like balloons.
     
    The new line, which includes shower gels, body lotions, loofas and shower caps, is on display in the pop-up and available for sale.

  • Pearle Vision seeks to license four Orlando stores

    Mason, Ohio – Pearle Vision plans to convert four of its stores in Orlando, Fla., from company-owned to licensees. Pearle Vision is currently seeking qualified candidates who are interested in owning and operating a Pearle Vision store to purchase four existing locations for sale in Orlando.

  • Alice + Olivia, from pop-up to permanent in Manhattan

    New York — Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive VP of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group have arranged a multi-level Soho flagship for Alice + Olivia By Stacey Bendet at 98 Greene Street between Spring and Prince Streets.

  • ShopKo announces five new Hometown format stores

    Green Bay, Wis. -- Shopko continues on its growth path with the opening of five new Shopko Hometown stores in November. The new stores are located in: Afton, Wyo.; Ellsworth, Wis.; St. Peter, Minn.; Tomahawk, Wis., and Winneconne, Wis.

  • Ridemakerz to open in-store shop at FAO Schwarz

    Falls Church, Va. -- Ridemakerz, the build-a-car retailer, will open a 1,300-sq.-ft. in-store shop at FAO Schwarz Fifth Avenue, on Nov. 11. A highlight of the space will be the Ridemakerz “build table” where customers can assemble their cars, attaching the body of the car to the chassis and adding custom rims and tires.

  • ARCP acquires Cole for $11.2B

    New York -- American Realty Capital Properties has acquired Cole Real Estate Investments for $11.2 billion, creating the world’s largest net lease real estate investment trust, with an enterprise value of $21.5 billion.

    ARCP has secured $2.75 billion in fully committed financing from Barclays. The loan is expected to close in the first half of next year.

    Updated ARCP pro forma 2014 guidance indicates that adjusted funds from operations will move from $1.13 to $1.19 per share, compared with 2013 guidance of $0.91 to $0.95 per share.

  • 99¢ Only opens Dallas/Fort Worth store

    City of Commerce, Calif. — 99¢ Only Stores has leased 18,728 sq. ft. in Fairmeadows Shopping Center on East Camp Wisdom Road in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Fairmeadows tenant line-up includes Dollar

    General, Popeye’s, Firestone and Dental Republic. The Weitzman Group, the exclusive leasing agent for the center, handled negotiations for the landlord.
