  • Argo Tea opens new Chicago café

    Chicago — Argo Tea has opened a greenhouse-inspired café in Chicago’s newly restored Connors Park. Argo and the city worked together on the park restoration, which includes chamomile and hibiscus tea bushes and native drought-tolerant plant varieties.

    Argo Tea opened its first café in Chicago in 2003 and now operates 27. Plans call for 15 new locations over the next 12 months.

     

  • Dunkin’ Donuts to enter Southern California; signs agreements for 45 locations

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts announced  that it has signed its first Southern California multi-unit store development agreements,  with four franchise groups for a total commitment of 45 locations. 

    The first restaurants are expected to open in 2015 in Orange and Los Angeles counties. Some non-traditional Dunkin' Donuts locations may open over the next several months. 

  • The Dump to open two new stores

    New York -- The Dump Furniture Store plans to open a 134,000-sq.-ft. outlet in Lombard, Ill. and a 215,000-sq.-ft. warehouse in Addison, Ill. over the summer.

    With 11 locations, the big-box retailer offers discounted famous-name furniture in stores open only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

     

  • Taubman unveils new outlet center store lineup

    Chesterfield, Mo. — Taubman Prestige Outlets Chesterfield, a new fashion outlet center opening on Aug. 2, has announced its lineup of stores, many new to the St. Louis market.

    Store names include Polo ralph Laurent Factory Store, Restoration Hardware, Abercrombie & Fitch Outlet, Abercrombie kids, 2b bebe Outlet, Lucky Brand Outlet, Brooks Brothers Factory Store and many other well-known names.

  • PB Teen to open at South Coast Plaza

    San Francisco -- PB Teen, a division of Williams-Sonoma, on July 27 will open its first store in Orange County, Calif., at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

    The store will be anchored around a complimentary PBteen Design Lab, where teens and their parents can engage with the brand and its products by digitally creating a personalized room on a computer monitor. Using drag and drop technology, teens can experiment with different room configurations and color combinations and quickly see their designs come to life on a television screen overhead. 

  • GNC plans 26-store rollout in China

    Pittsburgh — GNC Holdings has announced that it is expanding its retail presence in China with the opening of its first stand-alone store in Shanghai. GNC plans to open an additional 25 locations in China over the next 12 months.

    The company currently operates more than 60 store-within-a-store locations in eight grocery, convenience and health and wellness chains in China.

     

  • Cypress Equities acquires Glendale, Calif., center

    DallasCypress Equities has acquired the Glendale Marketplace in Glendale, Calif. The 154,420-sq.-ft. open-air retail and entertainment center is adjacent to the Americana at Brand.

    National retail brands represented in the center include HomeGoods, Old Navy, Starbucks, GNC and Outback Steakhouse.

    SRS Real Estate Partners will represent Cypress in lease negotiations.

     

  • Coming soon to Posner Commons: Paragon Theaters

    New York -- Paragon Theaters has announced plans to bring a 10-screen theater to Posner Commons in Davenport, Fla. The theater will serve as the entertainment anchor for the 630,000-sq.-ft. regional power center, offering Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy and other. Paragon said the new theater would open in the summer of 2014.

    National retail tenants at Posner Commons include Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Best Buy and others.

     

  • Five Guys sign into Alameda South Shore Center

    Alameda, Calif. — Later this summer, Five Guys Burgers and Fries will open a 1,781-sq.-ft. restaurant in Alameda South Shore Center, in Alameda, Calif., said Jamestown, a fund manager offering core and opportunistic property funds.

    Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank represented Jamestown in the transaction. SRSRE represented Five Guys.

     

  • Sports Authority renews at Miami’s Kendallgate

    New York -- Berkowitz Development Group has inked a lease renewal with Sports Authority for 43,000-sq. ft. at Kendallgate Shopping Center in Miami.

    As part of a nationwide effort, the retailer will redesign the store’s interior and incorporate updated exterior signage.
