  • Stein Mart opening seven stores

    Jacksonville, Fla. -- Stein Mart is expanding with the opening of seven stores this fall. The new stores are located in Surprise, Ariz.; Katy, Texas; Tucson, Ariz.; and Charlottesville, Va. The McAllen, Texas; Biloxi, Miss.; and San Dimas, Calif., stores are a relocation of another area store to improve sites.

    The four new and three relocated stores bring Stein Mart's total store count to 263 at the end of this year.

  • West Elm to open South Coast Plaza store

    Brooklyn, N.Y. -- West Elm, a division of Williams-Sonoma, announced that it will open a store in South Coast Plaza on Nov. 2.

    The store will feature a three-sided living wall and will be the first West Elm to open with the company’s newly announced West Elm Market shop-in-shop. Through a partnership with Etsy, it will also feature a collection of decorative accessories and art made by artists from the Orange County area.

     

  • Eataly to open in Chicago

    New York -- Macerich announced that Eataly, the largest artisanal Italian food and wine emporium in the world, has reached an agreement to open its second U.S. location, at The Shops at North Bridge near Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

    The new location, expected to open in September 2013, will be the concept's largest, at 60,000 sq. ft. Eataly opened its first U.S. store, in Manhattan, in 2010.
    Eataly is a collaboration among Joe Bastianich, Mario Batali, Lidia Bastianich and Oscar Farinetti, who founded Eataly in Turin, Italy, in 2007.

  • Hollywood & Highland Center announces new tenant openings

    Hollywood, Calif. – Four new tenants have opened at Hollywood & Highland Center – the retail, dining and entertainment venue located on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. Mr. Koji’s, GNC, Sweet! Hollywood candy store and Kitson fashion boutique have all recently opened and will be joined by another group of impending openings.

    Chilli Beans, a Brazilian sunglasses retailer, is slated to open on Oct. 31; L'Occitane will open on Nov. 1; Zinzi jewelry will open Dec. 1; and Cho Oishi will open its Japanese restaurant in Feb. 2013.

  • HomeGoods to open in Huntington Beach

    Tustin, Calif. -- Present Value Properties said it has negotiated a 10-year, 24,160-sq.-ft. lease for HomeGoods at the Sher Lane Shops, a 45,000-sq.-ft. community center in Huntington Beach, Calif.

    TJX Cos.-owned HomeGoods, which joins Men’s Wearhouse, Stone Hedge Tiles and Vitamin Shoppe, is expected to open in spring 2013 in a former Office Depot space.

     

  • Waynesville Commons opens doors

    Waynesville, N.C. -- Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL & Associates Properties announced the opening of its newest community center development, Waynesville Commons, a 127,500-sq.-ft. community center in Waynesville, N.C.  

    Joining the existing Walmart, the 100% leased center is anchored by an 85,000-sq.-ft. Belk, Michaels and PetSmart, along with 11,000 sq. ft. of specialty stores including US Cellular and Rack Room Shoes.

  • Mid-America Real Estate-Wisconsin names new partners

    Milwaukee -- Mid-America Real Estate-Wisconsin announced the promotion of VPs Tony Colvin and Adam Dreier to principals.

    Colvin joined Mid-America Real Estate as a broker associate in January 2001 and, too date, has brokered over 1.2 million sq. ft. of retail space for a total transaction value of over $186 million.  Dreier has been with Mid-America Real Estate since February 2002 as a broker associate.  To date, he has brokered over 1 million sq. ft. of retail space, for a total transaction value of over $212 million.

     

  • Bettie Page opens in Boston

    Las Vegas -- Tatyana Designs opened its 10th Bettie Page store, on Newbury Street in Boston.

    “We are confident that our new Boston location will track the success of our other nine company-owned outlets all located in prime 'street' or up-scale mall locations. We are looking at additional East Coast locations as we aggressively pursue our growth strategy," said Tatyana Designs co-CEO Jan Glaser.

  • Trio of new tenants complete Phase II of Crossroads at Somerset leasing

    Franklin Township, N.J. -- Crossroads Cos., based in Mahwah, N.J., announced that three new Crossroads at Somerset lease agreements have rendered the retail Phase II component of the grocery-anchored neighborhood shopping center fully occupied.

    Integrated Health, La Vida Massage and and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital will join the 118,000-sq.-ft, mixed-use project, already tenanted by Verizon Wireless, My Tokyo Sushi, Let’s Yo Frozen Yogurt, Frank’s Pizza and Hair Cuttery.

  • KeyPoint Partners to manage, lease Woburn Mall

    Burlington, Mass. -- KeyPoint Partners announced it has been awarded the property management and retail leasing contract for the Woburn Mall in Woburn, Mass.

    Real estate equity fund Multi-Employer Property Trust acquired the 276,200-sq.-ft. mall in September 2012. Tenants include TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Sports Authority, DSW and CVS Pharmacy.
