American Dream’s latest tenant is an Asian-American grocer

7/18/2019
One of the largest Asian-American supermarket chains in United States is headed to the long-awaited American Dream megamall in East Rutherford, N.J.

The upscale H Mart will open a 35,000-sq.-ft. store and restaurant at the 3 million-sq.-ft. retail and entertainment center, now slated to open on October 25. It will feature an array of national and international Asian food concepts in a "market-eatery" space, along with New Jersey’s first “Let Them Talk Bar,” which will feature live music and other entertainment, craft cocktails and weekly events.

Entertainment and food will weigh heavily in the mix at American Dream, whose mix is broken down as 55% entertainment and 45% “experiential” retail. It will feature more than 120 and specialty food offerings.

H Mart opened its first store in 1980, in Woodside, New York. It currently operates 68 U.S., locations. The company is based in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
