Chicagoland power center intros event room for tenants

Winston Plaza, a 404,000-sq.-ft. power center in the Chicago suburb of Melrose Park, has just made it easier for retail tenants to stage product events, customer workshops, and community programs.

Rspace, a 950-sq.-ft. event room, has been made available free to tenants. It is centrally located at the center, can hold up to 30 people, and features a smart TV (provided by tenant Best Buy), a buffet table, connected restroom, and Wi-Fi.

"We believe in creating a sense of community at all of our centers, as it builds synergy between residents, groups, and merchants," said Sandy Sigal, President and CEO of NewMark Merrill Companies, owner of Winston Plaza.

Best Buy, Marshalls, and LA Fitness anchor the center, whose tenants also include Office Depot, Dressbarn, Chuck E. Cheese, Footlocker, Famous Footwear, Party City, Payless, Carters, and Five Below.

NewMark Merrill has also opened an Rspace at Village at the Peaks, a 442,000-sq.-ft. shopping center in Longmont, Colorado.
