Mid-America to handle leasing for Macy’s Minneapolis landmark

5/31/2017

Mid-America Real Estate has been tapped to handle the marketing and leasing of the Macy’s building being redeveloped in downtown Minneapolis.

Located on the corner of South 7th and Nicollet Mall, the landmark store that was originally Dayton’s will tie together its street and skyway levels and fill them with entertainment providers, a food hall, and traditional retailers new to the market. 601w Companies and United Properties are the developers.

“It is an extremely exciting opportunity for all of us at Mid-America to be working with 601w and United Properties on this high profile and iconic repositioning in downtown Minneapolis,” said Doug Sailor, principal/managing director of Mid-America Real Estate Minnesota. “We are honored to be a part of what’s sure to be history in the making.”

Other partners selected for the project include The Telos Group, providing redevelopment consulting and office marketing and leasing services, Gensler & Associates as the lead architect, and Transwestern as the management agent.

Macy’s sold the building to 601w Companies in March for $59 million.
