Orlando residential project gets into fighting shape

7/31/2019
The Town Center at Tavistock Development's sprawling Lake Nona property in Orlando continues to develop, and lately with some muscle attached.

The Pixon apartments, a 200-unit “modern flat” community with 32,500 ft. of retail, announced the addition of three fitness studios — Club Pilates, Rukus Cycling Studios, and Florida’s first Neighborhood barre location. All are owned by Lake Nona residents are expected to open in 2019.

“Pixon’s mix of restaurants, fitness studios, modern design, and art installations make for a rich mixture of amenities,” said Skipper Peek, Tavistock’s senior VP of commercial development.

Also under development is the Lake Nona Town Center Hotel by Tavistock Hotel Collection, a nine-screen, 40,000-sq.-ft. Cinépolis luxury theatre, and a 110,000-sq.-ft. wellness facility created in partnership with Signet, LLC and its subsidiary Integrated Wellness Partners (IWP).

The urban-flavored Pixon apartments offer a car share program and Orlando’s first micro units, which average 360 sq. ft. The main lobby sports 16-ft.-high ceilings, communal tables, and games surrounded by two hand-drawn murals by local artist Carissa Bloemeke.

Pixon was designed by Torti Gallas + Partners and M+A Architects.
