REI opens at Mansell Crossing
Alpharetta, Ga. — Brixmor Property Group announced the opening of a 24,000-sq.-ft. REI at Mansell Crossing in Alpharetta, Georgia. This is the fifth Atlanta-area location for the national outdoor retailer.
“The opening of REI further strengthens the consumer draw for Mansell Crossing and enhances the merchandise mix with top quality recreational equipment and instructional expertise,” said Michael Lee, senior VP of leasing for Brixmor Property Group. “With desirable demographics, strong tenant lineup and high visibility, the center is now 99% leased with only a few small shop spaces available.”
The 332,364-sq.-ft. community center is anchored by a lineup of retailers that includes Macy’s Furniture Gallery, DSW, Michaels, HomeGoods, T.J. Maxx, Toys “R” Us, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Ulta Beauty and Ross Dress for Less. Mansell Crossing is located on North Point Parkway adjacent to North Point Mall.
Old Navy to open at Bayshore Town Center
Glendale, Wis. — Olshan Properties announced that Old Navy will open a store at Bayshore Town Center, in Glendale, Wisconsin. Old Navy will occupy a 17,025-sq.-ft. space that formerly housed Applebee’s, which has relocated to a larger location within the center.
Old Navy’s new store will anchor the west entrance opposite the food court on the north end of Bayshore Town Center. Renovation of the space is currently underway and the Old Navy store is expected to open late this summer. It joins more than 125 fashion and specialty retailers at the Milwaukee-area shopping, dining, and entertainment destination.
“Old Navy will be a wonderful addition to the expansive retail mix we have established here at Bayshore Town Center in the heart of Glendale,” said Olshan Properties’ VP of leasing, Jim Davis. In all, the mixed-use shopping center features 1.3 million sq. ft. of retail, restaurants, entertainment, office space and residential units.
Baker Katz acquires former Baytown Seafood site
Houston — Baker Katz, an X Team International partner and full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm, announced the acquisition of the former Baytown Seafood establishment situated on 30,000 sq. ft. of land in Houston.
The property is located at the cross streets of I-10 East and Haden Road. Baker Katz plans to demolish the current building to construct an 8,000-sq.-ft. building occupied by a combination of restaurant and retail tenants.
“This property has great potential and we’re excited to repurpose this site, bringing new restaurant and retail options to the local community,” said Neal Wade of Baker Katz, who spearheaded the acquisition. “The highly visible and accessible location is ideally suited for a dynamic combination of tenants.”
Construction is slated to begin in June 2015.
