Sarah Jessica Parker brand expanding in brick-and-mortar
Actress Sarah Jessica Parker is growing her fledgling retail business.
SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, the growing contemporary brand owned by Parker and George Malkemus III, will open its first Midwest location, at Mall of America. Scheduled to open this summer, the 1,300 -sq.-ft. store will feature the brand’s iconic line of Italian-handcrafted footwear and accessories and its signature black dress.
The first SJP store opened in December 2016, at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland. It has since added locations in Manhattan, Las Vegas, Houston, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
“This is an exciting time for us as our company continues to grow,” said Parker and Malkemus in a statement. “We’re thrilled that part of this growth includes a new partnership with Triple 5. Their enthusiasm and support has been so exciting.”
The Mall of America outpost will join the current roster of boutiques operating in New York City, Las Vegas, Maryland, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
“Sarah Jessica Parker has revolutionized how we view footwear and accessories with her timeless style and now stunning collection,” said Leasing Manager Ashley Hofmann. “We look forward to SJP stepping into our eclectic mix of retailers as we continue bringing first-to-market brands that establish Mall of America as a premiere fashion destination.”
