First Look: Specialty jeweler opens Florida flagship

7/2/2019

Luxury jewelry and watch retailer Mayors opened a flagship at Merrick Park, Coral Gables, Fla., as part of its relaunch investment.

Designed by Michael Neumann Associates, the 4,700-sq.-ft. store will set the tone and aesthetics for the renovation of all stores in Mayors’ portfolio. The open-plan layout is divided into three main spaces by screens of ebonized wood and shimmering brass, a leitmotif of the dark façade. Calacatta marble flooring, pale gray carpeting, and crisp white plaster walls and ceilings define the airy, modern environment providing a glamorous setting for the customers.

The main areas are home to the two anchor watch brands (Rolex and Cartier), a flexible and changing retail space for Mayors’ jewelry and other watch brands and a display space featuring bridal and high jewelry collections. The space also features a concierge-style lounge that will serve Cuban coffee backed by a living vertical botanical garden. The store features several exclusive offerings, including a one-of-a-kind capsule collection from Miami-born jewelry designer Pamela Love in collaboration with Mayors.

“Mayors has an amazing history and heritage in Florida and as we invest in transforming the retail space of Mayors into a chic and contemporary space, our goal is to continue to develop a loyal customer and provide impeccable hospitality,” stated David Hurley, executive VP of The Watches of Switzerland Group, US, parent company of Mayors.

Mayors currently operates 15 stores in Florida and Georgia. It features brands such as Rolex, Cartier, IWC, Omega, Tag Heuer, Mikimoto and Bulgari as well as its own collections of bridal, diamond and gold jewelry.
