Amazon lets more customers hunt for treasure

8/7/2019

Amazon is bringing its Treasure Truck mobile/social promotion to four new cities and expanding pickup locations.

The e-tail giant is expanding Treasure Truck to Charlotte, Cincinnati, Columbus and Las Vegas, now making it available in 29 cities across the U.S. Treasure Truck features one unique hand-picked item per day, several times per week. Customers can sign up for text message alerts revealing the day’s “treasure.” Each offer is always a surprise, with limited quantities available.

After customers place their Treasure Truck order on Amazon, they then select from one of more than 100 pickup locations available across the country and a time slot to get their item. In addition to trucks, customers can pick up their purchases at newly-launched vans, as well as kiosks in select locations including Amazon Books, Amazon Go, and Whole Foods Market stores.

According to Amazon, Treasure Truck now has millions of subscribers and more than double the amount of pickup locations per offer since its initial expansion in July 2017. Consumers can also follow Treasure Truck on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

“We’ve been so excited by the customer reaction to Treasure Truck the last couple of years, from all across the country,” said Margot Johnson, director of Treasure Truck at Amazon. “Our customers love the surprise of what new hand-picked, must-have item is on Treasure Truck each day, and being able to pick it up from convenient locations where they live, work, and play. Now, we’re thrilled to continue expanding this one-of-a-kind shopping experience with more cities, offers, events, pickup locations, and vehicles, to deliver even more delight.”
