Report: Neiman Marcus dreams up new e-commerce venture

Neiman Marcus Group is reportedly partnering with four luxury mattress brands for online sales.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the upscale department store chain is now selling exclusive selections from Aireloom, Royal-Pedic, Sferra, and Shifman via NeimanMarcus.com and its Horchow.com specialty furniture and décor site. Offerings include mattresses, which customers can also pair with complementary products such as pillows and pajamas. Mattress prices range from $2,000 to almost $20,000.

Neiman Marcus is launching this premium-priced e-commerce endeavor as it remains under pressure from a debt load, and as CFO/COO Adam Orvos is preparing to leave the company. But the company was recently able to buy itself more time via a debt exchange that extended the due dates.
