Actress Kate Hudson and Rolling Stone to stream shoppable concert

Kate Hudson will celebrate the release of her album with a livestream shopping event.

Kate Hudson is teaming up with a legendary music magazine to promote her first-ever album with a livestream shopping event.

The actress and singer/songwriter is partnering with Rolling Stone to celebrate the release of her debut album, "Glorious," on Friday, May 17, 2024 with a shoppable simulcast interview and living room concert hosted on the TalkShopLive livestream shopping platform.

The livestream event will take place 8 p.m. ET on Friday, May 17 via Hudson’s Instagram feed and Facebook page, as well as on RollingStone.com, TalkShop.Live, and across the TalkShopLive content distribution network. Hudson will offer autographed CDs and vinyl copies of "Glorious," along with album-themed merchandise.

The promotion will leverage a new livestream commerce feature from TalkShopLive called Shoppable Simulcast, which enables sellers to seamlessly simulcast shoppable livestreams to select social media pages.

Walmart debuted the TalkShopLive Shoppable Simulcast feature for Facebook in June 2023, and producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, who has collaborated with performers including Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg and K-pop superstars BTS, hosted a cooking-themed live shopping event on his Instagram page using Shoppable Simulcast in March 2024.

This event marks TalkShopLive's first-ever collaboration with Rolling Stone. However, the platform teamed up with Billboard as part of the Benny Blanco livestream, and has also partnered with magazines from publishers including Conde Nast and Hearst. Other celebrities who have hosted shoppable livestream events on the platform include Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, Reneé Rapp, Noah Kahan, Gracie Abrams and Sabrina Carpenter.

Meanwhile, Hudson is no stranger to e-commerce or retail in general. She is a cofounder of Fabletics, an activewear retailer launched as a membership-based e-commerce site in 2013 which now operates brick-and-mortar stores and is open to all consumers.

“I have been writing songs my whole life and have always dreamed of putting out a record. That time is now,” said Hudson.

“Rolling Stone is the authority on music and entertainment features, and we are thrilled to partner with them for this special livestream concert by the incredible Kate Hudson,” said TalkShopLive co-founder and CEO Bryan Moore. “We’ve built our platform for media moments just like this, where consumers can engage in premium video content accompanied with a frictionless shopping experience."
