Amazon’s brokerage service goes national

Amazon is expanding its brokerage division, which it launched about one year ago.

Amazon is now offering brokerage services in 48 states, reported FreightWaves, which cited a report by Business Insider. Amazon freight.amazon.com says service areas include “all U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii.” The service matches shippers with freight capacity.  

The expansion of the service now expands truckload capacity for shippers and also allows all carriers to sign up for the service; previously only pre-approved carriers were included, according to FreightWaves.
