Natural Grocers tapped an insider as its new financial head.

The company announced the appointment of Todd Dissinger CFO, effective January 1, 2018.  He will succeed Sandra Buffa, who, as previously announced, will retire effective December 31, 2017.

Dissinger has served as VP, treasurer of Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets, Natural Grocers' operating subsidiary, since 2015.  Prior to that, from 1997 to 2015, Dissinger served as senior VP – treasurer, risk management and credit at The Bon-Ton Stores.

Natural Grocers, which was founded in 1955, has been ramping up its store growth since it went public in 2012. The company currently operates approximately 140 stores in 19 states.

"Todd's extensive public company finance experience, along with his understanding of Natural Grocers and strong background in the retail sector, are an ideal fit for Natural Grocers as the company continues to grow," said Kemper Isely, chairman and co-president, Natural Grocers, which puts a big emphasis on health and nutrition and offers free, science-based nutrition education programs to help customers make informed choices.
