Coach is offering immersive shopping in select store windows.

Coach is looking to attract shoppers and drive foot traffic with an augmented reality (AR)-based holiday experience.

The specialty retailer is s enabling customers to try on holiday accessories using store display windows via AR.  Through Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, Coach is leveraging the Zero10 AR Storefront solution to provide an immersive digital shopping experience at five store locations: Boston; Atlanta; Austin, Tex.;, Miami; and Toronto. The AR -enabled windows feature digital recreations of several holiday styles.

The items will appear on the customer’s body with coordinating AR special effects, including a pearlescent ribbon, multicolor holiday lights and an animated snowman. The looks will alternate on a timed sequence, allowing users and passersby to virtually engage with the entire digital collection.

In addition to the experience offered at the five stores, shoppers can gain access to the digital holiday collection worldwide for free try-on through the Zero10 iOS app.

“We're thrilled to continue our collaboration with Coach, introducing an immersive AR try-on experience to enhance the holiday season,” said George Yashin, CEO of Zero10. “Focused on long-term partnerships, we believe this approach empowers pioneering brands like Coach in technology to introduce innovations, reshaping the fashion industry. The holiday season, being a peak period, allows brands to surprise customers and provide a novel experience, with interactive AR technology taking center stage.”

Coach offers immersive retail, wholesale experiences

The Coach-Zero10 holiday campaign follows a successful partnership earlier in spring 2023 in support of the Coach “In My Tabby” campaign. Coach has also experimented with other mixed reality and virtual promotions.

During the 2022 holiday season, the upscale leather goods and accessories maker launched an immersive virtual experience running on the Obsess platform and inspired by a vintage Coach store. The virtual store let customers travel through themed rooms, shop the holiday collection and play a game with Rexy, Coach’s dinosaur mascot, to unlock prizes. In addition, visitors had the opportunity to shop via livestream videos on the site alongside friends and influencers.

And in 2021, Coach also partnered with the Obsess experiential e-commerce platform, to create an immersive virtual wholesale showroom that was a 3D re-creation of its Fifth Avenue flagship store.

The digital showroom enabled wholesale buyers to experience our new collections each season without having to fly in to see products in person, reducing the carbon footprint of its business and speeding the buying process.

Coach is a subsidiary of parent company Tapestry. As of July 1, 2023, Tapestry’s portfolio included 330 Coach stores in North America and 609 international locations; as well as 205 Kate Spade stores in North America and 609 international locations; and 36 Stuart Weitzman stores in North America and 57 international locations.
