The Superette
WS Development thinks The Superette will serve as a model for urban retail settings in the coming years.

The Superette, an “intimate” retail setting that will host trendy brands such as Rag&Bone, Le Labo, and Scotch & Soda will be opening up in the spring and summer of 2022 as part of WS Development’s 33-acre renovation of waterfront in Boston.

Encasing 125,000 sq. ft. of retail, The Superette will attempt to be an “experience-first” center that WS claims will change how developers approach retail in urban settings in the future. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the 40-store complex will include a tree-line courtyard inspired by the historic squares of Europe and play host to year-round public programming and customer activations.

The retail lineup will also include Framebridge, Alo Yoga, and Todd Snyder, along with several first-to-market brands such as Daniel Cremieux and Mack Weldon. Permanent locations of the women’s sleepwear brand Lunya and the local boutique Injeanious will operate in The Superette alongside a continuing roster of pop-ups. Seaport Barbers will open its second shop there, as well.

“We are thrilled to share the details around The Superette today. There is so much joy and enchantment baked into every detail of this neighborhood oasis,” said Ariel Foxman, general manager of Boston Seaport. “The Superette will undoubtedly become a must-visit and must-return destination for Bostonians and visitors to our city alike.”
