Hot Topic contains supply chain with cloud-based warehouse management

Hot Topic Inc. is managing its wide-ranging product assortment across three retail brands with advanced warehouse management technology.

In addition to its namesake brand, which sells entertainment- and music-inspired merchandise, apparel and accessories via brick-and-mortar stores and online, Hot Topic’s portfolio includes Her Universe and BoxLunch. Supporting distribution with two rapidly growing fulfillment centers, the omnichannel retailer is migrating its warehouse management system (WMS) to the cloud-based Manhattan Associates’ Manhattan Active Warehouse Management platform.

Hot Topic intends to upgrade warehouse management activities such as order streaming, warehouse execution system (WES) functionality, and picking and packing. Manhattan’s WES functionality simplifies and streamlines the process of adding and managing warehouse robots and automation, enabling the WMS to manage workflow of both humans and machines in order to fully optimize the flow of products.

“Supporting our online growth and continuing our cloud first initiatives were a major driving force behind the decision to upgrade to Manhattan Active Warehouse Management,” said Mike Yerkes, COO at Hot Topic. “We’ve worked with Manhattan Associates for many years now and look forward to moving to its innovative, cloud-native and versionless solution.”

“Manhattan Active Warehouse Management’s integrated platform will help Hot Topic maximize and optimize all of its warehouse resources,” said Bob Howell, senior VP, Americas at Manhattan Associates. “We have a long history of success with Hot Topic and are proud they are using Manhattan Active Warehouse Management to support their ongoing success and growth.”

Specialty vertical apparel retailer Lands’ End plans to implement Manhattan Active Warehouse Management in its U.S. distribution centers in August, as part of a broader supply chain technology upgrade. Lands’ End intends to obtain higher levels of agility and responsiveness within its supply chain operations.
