Jet’s Pizza automates order management with phone bot

Jet’s Pizza is applying AI to phone orders.

A regional Midwest pizza chain is enabling customers to place phone orders with an artificially intelligent phone bot.

Jet’s Pizza is integrating its menus with the OrderAI solution from integrated restaurant technology provider HungerRush, so that phone-in customers can customize their orders, just as they would if they were in a physical store or talking to a live human associate. The intelligent AI system learns consumer behaviors in an effort to support engagement in smart upselling and smart targeted marketing with each call.

The company recently completed a pilot program of OrderAI Talk in 70 stores. Following a successful launch, where Jet’s Pizza was able to increase productivity of team members and improve customer satisfaction, the fast food retailer is now offering the solution to all franchisees, with more than 100 signed up to date.

Customers can place their orders more quickly and seamlessly through the automated phone attendant, from order placement through payment, without being placed on hold. According to HungerRush, 92% of customers that start an OrderAI Talk order convert to completed orders. The solution also provides voice recognition with order confirmation and delivery and payment

Post-order, Jet’s Pizza can use the HungerRush OrderAI Text solution, which it implemented in 2021, to automatically send phone customers a text marketing message one week later, giving them the ability to quickly respond and place that order via text.

OrderAI Text also enables customers to text a store using the same local phone number they would use to call in an order. The customer can text their entire order in one message, including indicating pickup or the delivery address. The system then facilitates payment, processes the order, sends the order information into the store, and responds with confirmation and order timing.

HungerRush data indicates that three in 10 (29%) customers who received an OrderAI Text marketing message placed at least one or more repeat orders.
