Five new tenants have moved into the massive Central Park Plaza off the intersection of I-95 and Route 3 in Fredericksburg, Va., a town of just 28,000 citizens.

The 2.5 million sq.-ft. power center has added a sporting goods retailer, two eateries, a dental office and a yoga studio to its list of tenants, adding 84,000 sq. ft. of leased retail space. Central Park Plaza hosts more than 150 tenants and is anchored by Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Kohl’s, and Lowes.

The new arrivals:

  • Academy Sports + Outdoors Academy’s store at Central Park opened in early October with 77,000 square feet of space. The retailer specializes in apparel, footwear, sports equipment, outdoor gear, and more from top national brands and its own private label brands.
  • Raising Cane’s The popular chain has brought its famous fried chicken and bread to the shopping center with 3,284 square feet of space. Raising Cane’s operates more than 700 restaurants in 37 states.
  • YogaSix The dynamic yoga studio with a variety of classes and packages opened in a 2,859-sq.-ft. space at Central Park.
  • Affordable Dentures & Implants The office provides a variety of dental services including dentures and implants. It opened in September in a 4,600 sq.-ft. space.
  • Cold Stone Creamery The ice cream chain opened in a 1,762 sq.-ft. space at the center.

“The addition of these merchants allows for us to provide a diverse amount of choices for local residents and visitors while continuing to invest in our local community,” said Susan Bourgeois, executive director of leasing and brokerage at Rappaport, the company that manages and leases Central Park.

Opened in 1995, Central Park is a central shopping hub in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia metropolitan area. Located next to 108,000 sq. ft. of office space within the center and other businesses nearby, the center draws shoppers from around the region.
