Peets introduces in-app delivery

Customers across the country have a new option for home delivery of Peet’s Coffee beverages and food products.

The Berkeley, Calif.-based coffee retailer, which launched a pilot of on-demand delivery with DoorDash in April 2020, is introducing delivery in its app on iPhone and Android. App users can receive contactless delivery, and also have access to the Peetnik Rewards loyalty program. Members receive a free beverage of choice after their first purchase, earn points towards free beverages, get access to a secret “member’s only” menu, and other perks.

This feature is now available in 204 Peet’s-operated store locations nationwide, with varying hours. From Aug. 18-31, Peet’s is offering free delivery and waiving delivery service fees on orders made through the Peet’s app.

Several other major coffee retailers have recently launched or expanded on-demand delivery programs as the COVID-19 pandemic limits store hours and occupancy in many areas of the country. Tim Hortons recently introduced on-demand delivery of mobile orders in conjunctions with Uber Eats. Dunkin is extending a partnership with Grubhub nationwide, while Starbucks has been offering national delivery with Uber Eats since the end of April.
