Petco’s new cloud-based platform is consolidating mission-critical information for more than 118 stores in Latin America.

Petco is creating a seamless experience across its stores in Latin America with the help of technology.

The pet goods and services retailer has implemented a cloud-based omnichannel solution from Teamwork Commerce. The platform will manage data flowing across its point-of-sale (POS), loyalty and inventory management systems throughout its more than 118 stores in Mexico and Chile. All data is also integrated with Petco’s customer relationship management (CRM) system and its online store.

By consolidating information into a single platform, Petco has gained an improved user interface that will streamline the checkout process and enhance the customer experience. It also supports QR code scanning for grooming services and bulk products, enabling shoppers to add multiple items to an order with a single scan. Additionally, the platform gives customers the option to receive receipts via email or through the Petco mobile app.

The solution’s cloud-based functionality also supports the retailer’s "Club Petco" loyalty program, enabling customers to earn coupons based on their combined in-store and online purchases.

"Teamwork Commerce has become one of the key pillars in achieving omnichannel capabilities at Petco,” said Guillermo Prieto Cortes, CIO of Petco Mexico. “It has reinforced our successful loyalty program Club Petco, and we have been able to implement real-time targeted experiences to pamper our customers both in physical stores and on the e-commerce platform.”

Petco operates more than 1,500 locations across the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico, which offer merchandise, companion animals, grooming, training and a growing network of on-site veterinary hospitals and mobile veterinary clinics. The company recently unveiled a new experiential flagship in Manhattan’s Union Square. The two-level, 25,000-sq.-ft. store houses a full suite of experiences, products and services, ranging from a full-service veterinary hospital to an indoor dog training park.
