Department store retailer in expansion mode

Not all department stores are scaling back on their portfolio.



Von Maur Department Stores has opened its third location in the state of Georgia, a 165,000-sq.-ft. store at the Mall of Georgia in Buford.



The new location continues the family-owned company's strategic national expansion plans. After expanding beyond its Midwestern footprint in 2011 with the opening of its first Atlanta location, Von Maur has since grown in additional new states including New York, Alabama, and Oklahoma, It will open its first Wisconsin location in spring 2017.



Von Maur will serve as an anchor tenant at the Mall of Georgia. The two-level Von Maur store received a complete renovation to feature the company's signature residential ambiance, complete with antiques, original artwork, open-floor plan and music from the store's grand piano



Von Maur currently operates 31 stores in 14 states.
