Topgolf opens its first Louisiana location
Olshan’s Siegen Lane Marketplace in Baton Rouge welcomes one of the industry’s most sought-after entertainment concepts with this week’s debut of Topgolf. It’s the first Louisiana location for the casual golf center.
The three-level, 55,000-sq.-ft. center is the 52nd venue worldwide for Topgolf, which combines food and beverage offerings with golf games for players of all skill levels. Each center has some 90 bays.
This Topgolf sits astride I-10, adjoining the 462,150-sq.-ft. power center that houses Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Lowes, Kohl’s, T.J. Maxx, and Bed Bath & Beyond, among other tenants.
“The excitement and energy here in Baton Rouge is off the charts and we are thrilled to open our first Louisiana venue in the heart of the state,” said Topgolf Baton Rouge director of operations Blake Upchurch.
Siegen Lane Marketplace is located in East Baton Rouge Parish, the most affluent segment of the Baton Rouge MSA. The Mall of Louisiana and Lake Sherwood Mall lie within a 3-mile radius.
Off-course golf participation has been increasing by double-digits in recent years and is a key driver of new players to the sport. More than 8 million people played at a Topgolf in 2016 according to the National Golf Foundation.
Golf equipment manufacturer TaylorMade is introducing Drive Shack, a competitor to Topgolf that offers more fanciful games. The first Drive Shack opened last year at Lake Nona Town Center outside of Orlando.
