Ulta to open three-level flagship in Philadelphia

Philadelphia -- Ulta Beauty will open a flagship in Philadelphia on Rittenhouse Row in the Center City district. The store will be the beauty retailer’s first location in Center City.

“Ulta will open an exciting three level store much like its only other signature urban store in Chicago,” said Steve O’Malley, partner at Fameco Real Estate, who represented the retailer in the transaction.

The new Ulta will be located at 1619 Walnut Street, former home of the Westinghouse Broadcasting studio and later CBS affiliate, KYW-TV, where TV classics like “The Mike Douglas Show” were taped. The property was acquired in 2007 by Vesper Property Group, which completed an extensive renovation of the site last year.

“Our location at 1619 Walnut offers tremendous visibility and presence through its two story glass wall storefront, a truly fine and distinctive architectural presentation,” said Dave Rayner, Ulta VP real estate.

Ulta operates 449 stores across 42 states.
