Ed Coury, who amassed decades of experience on both the landlord and tenant side of lease negotiations, has been named managing director of RCS Real Estate Advisors.

Coury leaves Los Angeles and his senior VP post at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield for the New York offices of RCS, a recognized leader in portfolio assessments, renewals, lease restructuring, terminations, dispositions, and site selection.

“Ed Coury has a plethora of knowledge in all facets of real estate and his experience on both sides of the table will be extremely helpful to our firm,” said RCS president and CEO Ivan Friedman in a statement announcing the hire.

Coury began his retail real estate career in the early 1980s, working for Gap and Chico’s before becoming senior VP of leasing and construction for Charlotte Russe. He moved to the developer side to head leasing for Starwood Retail Partners before joining Westfield.

Coury now takes a leadership role in a company that he’s quite familiar with. “I’ve had the privilege of working with RCS over the years and I’ve always admired the high level of professionalism and passion that they delivered on a daily basis,” he said.
