Boise, Idaho - WinCo Foods LLC will open its newest discount supermarket on March 27. The 88,000-sq.-ft. store is the company's second in Bakersfield and reflects WinCo's newer décor package creating a solid, clean feel, which highlights the product, including the hundreds of new WinCo Foods private label items the company has recently introduced.  

Manassas, Va. — Don Lencho Cocina Mexicana has opened at Manassas Shopping Center in Manassas, Va., next to Xtreme Archery. This is the third Washington, D.C., area restaurant owned by the husband and wife team of Juarez and Karen Barroso. The couple also owns Guajillo in Arlington, Va., and Casa Oaxaca in Adams Morgan in Washington, D.C.

The Manassas Shopping Center retail store line-up includes Peebles, Hancock Fabrics, Advance Auto Parts, Tony’s New York Pizza and the Manassas School of Dance.

Covington, La. — Stirling Properties has announced the opening of a full-service Walgreens in Terrytown on the Westbank of New Orleans. The new drugstore stands on the site of a former shopping center anchored by an A&P Grocery store and an Eckerd Drug store.

Indianapolis — Simon Property Group has launched a new dedicated Simon Venture Group, a business that will invest in retail innovation, with a focus on opportunities that enhance the shopping experience.

Mikael Thygesen, chief marketing officer of Simon Property Group said: "We believe we have only scratched the surface on applying technology to the retail environment in innovative, interesting ways."

Bexley, Ohio — Stanbery Development has named Marc Hays as a partner. He will focus on finding locations for new developments and acquisitions as well as leasing.

San Diego — Simon Property Group has announced that AllSaints, Pink, lululemon athletica and Free People plan to open stores at San Diego’s Fashion Valley in coming months.

British fashion house, AllSaints will open a 5,200-sq.-ft. space in late March. The international retailer now has 107 stores in eight countries.

New York -- Nordstrom Inc. is delaying the opening of its Nordstrom Rack chain in Canada until 2017, in order to focus its attention on the launch of its full-line department stores there, The Globe and Mail reported.

Nordstrom had initially planned to start opening Rack stores in Canada next year. But the company has decided to focus on  the openings of its six Canadian department stores (the first, in Calgary, is due to open this fall).

New York -- Express Inc. is opening its largest location in Times Square, N.Y. on March 25. The Times Square store is located in the landmark I. Miller building distinguished by its marbled frame and statues of iconic actresses including Marilyn Miller and Mary Pickford.

With more than 28,000 sq. ft., the location features imagery boxes, LED walls and screens, interactive iPads, mobile points-of-sale, and on-site charging stations to enhance the shopping experience.
